On-premise Veil now runs natively on Apple Silicon
The on-premise installer image is genuinely multi-platform — amd64 and arm64 — so a self-hosted Veil install now runs natively on Apple Silicon Macs and same-architecture ARM cloud instances.
If you're running Veil on your own server — self-hosted for data residency, network
isolation, or just because that's how your team operates — the installer image now ships as a
genuine multi-platform build: linux/amd64 and linux/arm64, both
verified by actually booting each one against real PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB and Redis containers
with every database migration completing successfully.
What this actually unlocks
Apple Silicon Macs (M1 through M4) can now run a self-hosted Veil install natively, with no emulation slowdown. The same fix also means same-architecture ARM cloud instances — AWS Graviton, Ampere Altra — are viable, cost-effective targets for a production on-premise deployment, not just something to try on a dev machine.
Already on the latest version? Nothing to do.
If your install already tracks the latest published image tag, the next time you run the updater you're automatically on the fixed, genuinely multi-platform build — no config change needed. See Updating Veil for the exact command for your platform.
Setting up a brand-new on-premise install? Start with the Setup Guide — full system requirements, including which architectures are supported, are in the On-Premise Install Reference.
